Center on
Conscience & War (CCW), formerly the National Interreligious
Service Board
for Conscientious Objectors (NISBCO), was formed in 1940 by an
association of
religious bodies. CCW works to defend and extend the rights of
conscientious objectors. The Center is committed to supporting
all those
who question participation in war, whether they are U.S. citizens,
permanent
residents, documented or undocumented immigrants--or citizens in other
countries. CCW, located in Washington, DC, is governed by a Board of
Directors
and employs a staff to serve the Center's national constituency.
Services
are provided to the public at no charge. CCW participates in the
G.I.
Rights Hotline, a national referral and counseling service for military
personnel. In the event of a military draft, CCW will assist in
the placement
of conscientious objectors in alternative service programs. The
Center

"Christian Peacemaker Teams
(CPT) offers an organized, nonviolent
alternative to war and other forms of lethal inter-group conflict. CPT
provides
organizational support to persons committed to faith-based nonviolent
alternatives in situations where lethal conflict is an immediate
reality or is
supported by public policy. CPT seeks to enlist the response of the
whole
church in conscientious objection to war, and the development of

institutions, skills and training for intervention in conflict

Jesus
Radicals
www.jesusradicals.com
"Jesus Radicals is a source of
discipleship for the church at large. We do not pretend to be anything
more or
less than a resource. However, this resource is designed for Christians
who
know something is wrong with the church. It is a place for those of us
who are
tired of playing power games practiced in the name of JesusÑfor
those of us who
are tired of violence and the lording of it over others. You are not
alone.
God has saved a remnant of His people who have not bowed down to
capitalism,
the state, money, the military or any other idol that plagues the world
today."

"Founded
to challenge the rampant nationalism in the churches of the United
States after
September 11, 2001, Kingdom Now serves today to connect and edify
radical
Christian communities. Their mission is twofold:
- to
continue to
challenge nationalism in our churches and to call the Body of Christ to
a
deeper level of allegiance to the Kingdom of God.
- to train church communities to live under the reign of God in
all things, and thus to encourage the growth of a biblical
counter-culture, the formation of a people whose life together models
an alternative to all the world's ways of death."
