CELEBRATING 75 YEARS OF PEACEBUILDING!

Disciples Peace Fellowship has been working for peace and social justice with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for the past 75 years. Founded in 1935 at the Convention of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in San Antonio, Texas, DPF began with just 75 dedicated individuals, and is now one of the largest independent organizations within the denomination. It is also the oldest existing Peace Fellowship denomination in the United States.

Disciples Peace Fellowship is dedicated to the elimination of war and the Biblical principles of peace and justice. We serve as a voice for members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) who long for peace and justice to be at the forefront of our teachings and learnings. You can see our work in the church and in the world through:

  • Nationally acclaimed PEACE INTERNSHIPS: Every summer, young adults are comprehensively trained to be Christian peace educators, and over 2000 high school students each year have access to Biblically based peace education.
  • PEACE SUNDAY resources: These resources are designed to spark creative ways for worship and study to be more inclusive of peace and justice issues.
  • REPRESENTATION: Our membership believe that the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) should keep peace and justice as its highest priority for our ministry together. DPF remains in healthy dialogue with the many branches and organization of the denomination – working with them to encourage peace and justice ministry at every level of our church.
  • INTERFAITH and ECUMENICAL dialogue: DPF can be found working with other communities of faith at all different levels – local, regional, national and international – for peace and justice throughout the world.DPF is prominently recognized with organizations like Fellowship of Reconciliation and Christian Peace Witness.
